Strawberry Days Has ARRIVED!

Join us this weekend as we march in the Strawberry Days Parade!  We have some primary and local candidates joining us!

In times like these, walking together is a reminder that community still matters, that neighbors can come together, and that we all share a hope for a better tomorrow. We'd love to have you join fellow Garfield County Democrats as we celebrate one of the valley's favorite traditions.

If you're able to bring candy to hand out, please do! It's not required, but it's always appreciated.

Important details:

• We are apart of Zone B – North Side of Glenwood Springs Elementary School (see photo below)

• Check-in begins: 8:15 a.m.

• All entries must be checked in by: 9:30 a.m.

• Parade begins: 10:00 a.m.

Parking: Participants may park in the Glenwood Springs High School South Lot and walk to the staging area. Please do not park in the North Lot. Limited street parking is also available on side streets outside the parade route. Coach Miller Drive is closed due to construction.

• Please plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. so we have plenty of time to get organized and finish decorating before check-in closes.

A few parade rules:

Wear fun, colorful clothing.  Plan on wearing your buttons and colors to support Pride month, democratic issues and all the ways you connect with the party.

Bring water and sunscreen.  We will also have water supplied.

No throwing candy or any other items. Candy must be handed out by walkers.

No jumping on or off the float. 

No weapons or firearms are permitted.  It's a given, but still a rule we wanted to convey.

This year's theme is America 250, Colorado 150, or strawberries.  You may incorporate this into your outfit!

We're proud to march as Garfield County Democrats, but Strawberry Days is a community celebration. The organizers have asked everyone to leave politics and debate at home, and we're happy to respect that. We're showing up to celebrate our community, enjoy a great local tradition, and be visible and accessible to the people we hope to serve as we head into primary season.
